I have a "tok"and i absolutely love the thing but.....do yourself a favor...for your first pistol....buy a .22....ammo is alot cheaper and is always around....plus recoil for a "newbie".....hmmmmm....just buy a .22 pistol to start....best advice that you are going to get !!!

i disagree completely.

its like learning to drive on an automatic car : you'll most likely never learn stick shift after.

Start with the hardest. after that, everything will seem easier. The opposite makes the learning process way longer.

Buy a .45 as your first gun. or at the very least a 9mm if you want to save on ammo cost.

"sewktbk"....I agree with you on much of what you say but and I know that there is always a "but" as a disclaimer.....he is a newbie....I'm just thinking of him getting into the sport and trying to find ammo....yes you can get it right now.....give it a few months....and for the price.....I still suggest a .22....and again as you said "start with the hardest"....I did knowing that ammo would be plentiful

I am military and have shot 9mm from a browning HP many times....I have also fired weapons you will never fire :D (carl gustav 84mm recoilles rifle last weekend, as well as c3 howitzer 81mm mortar ...can you guess what trade I am :p )

thanks alot guys appreciate he help

ordered from tradex great deal..i hope the ammo isnt steel cored though, also hope the pistol is in good condition :)

The stuff I just got from Tradex with my TT-33 combo is in berdan primed brass cases. The bullets are bright plated (nickel?) over steel jacket, and steel core with a little bit of a lead layer in between.
aym 53 headstamp so made in Czechoslovakia.

Oh, pistol was good with some minor pitting near the front of the slide, excellent bore.

no probs with your pistols?..ive just read steel cored has a better chance of ricochet and that its actually banned at some ranges

that's b/c it can start FIRES , and goes right through backstops, ( think armour piercing) and some ranges aren't set up for that
