Where to buy Waterglass? for 410 brass

Im looking to find Waterglass AKA "sodium silicate" or "Eggkeep" to reload my .410 brass.
Anyone know of a place around Toronto that sells this stuff?
I loaded some using glue, but when I pulled the trigger I could see the shot land 4 feet in front of me and the wad got stuck in the choke!
heres what I used

2-1/2 Magtech brass
CCI large Pistol Primer
13.5 gr of Win 296
Wad made from Corque aprox. .190" thick and .430 od
Win. AA wad
1/2oz of #8 shot
and a wad same as above glued to the case

I think Waterglass will seal the end much better and fix this Problem

Well I made it out to Home Depot and just as I expected the Workers were not able to help,
So than I asked the Guy if they sold Hammers, he said I would have to go ask in the tool area!
WOW He was not sure if they sold Hammers:mad: :mad:

You should be able to find waterglass in any decent pharmacy. It is available in pharmacies areound here, so I expect in Toronto it shoudn't be impossible to locate.

I would suggest ditching the cork wad and substituting any conventional .410 wad (Win, Rem, Fed, Claybuster). The gas seal on a plastic wad is far superior to any card wad and should contribute to loads that go "BANG" and not "pop". I would also suggest switching to a primer rated for magnum loads. Any .410 is operating at the bottom range of effective operating pressure for powder like 296, H110 or AAC #9. The hotter primer should help with ignition, especially in the cold.

I have loaded home made brass .410 (made from blown out .303 British) and have had success using large rifle primers, 13.5 grs of 296, a claybuster wad, 1/2 oz of #9 shot and a top card held inplace with a taper crimp and a small amount of melted wax on top. I've also used the above combo but with eight grains of Herco instead of the 296. Never had a squib with either load.

Lot's of fun. And as an added bonus it get's you funny looks at the skeet range!

May I ask where you got the Magtech .410 Brass hulls? I would like to have a few of the "proper" ones myself.

The standard .410 plastic shells have a smaller ID than the brass shells,
so the standard wads are to small to make a good seal, Im now trying out Milk carton material its alot tuffer
I have the following powders:

748
WST
760 can I use any of these Instaed of buying Herco or others?
 
I load shot cartridges for my .444 marlin. I use regular .444 cases ,15 gr WW296,a WW410 wad,and 1/2 oz shot. I top it with an inverted .44 cal gas check and put a light crimp on the mouth. Works great.

Yes, standard .410 wads will be a bit of a "sloppy" fit in a brass case. With the converted .303 brass they are a bit on the small side, however the cup shaped gas seal on a proper wad forgives much in the way of poor fit. If they work for me in the converted .303 brass I don't see why they won't work in your Magtech brass - are the magtech brass super thin?

Your 748 and 760 are not going to work as .410 powders. They require way too much pressure to burn properly, more pressure than is acceptable in a shotgun. While one might be able to use 231 or WST to successfully load a low velocity load I have no idea as to how much would be as safe load as these powders have never been suggested as suitable for the .410.

I am using a Plastic cup wad to hold the shot,
Is this what you mean by "cup shaped gas seal on a proper wad"
I treid today using LRifle primer and it was better but not great
The Wads Im refering to are WAA41
