Where to find 2.5” 12ga ammo?

Not interested in getting into yet another cartridge to load for, especially when I have no gear for shotshells.
Can anyone direct me to a business that supplies 2.5” loaded ammo for a 12ga?
Thanks

Good to know.
Thank you.
Ever use it? Is it about the same price as 2.75” as far as you know? I’d be blasting grouse so may consider a gun that can’t use 2.75 (although I’m sure someone could argue 2.75 would work fine in a 2.5 chamber) seeing as I won’t be undergunned by not running a 3.5” semi auto haha.

2.75" will fit in a 2.5" chamber, until you pull the trigger. Then the crimp will try to open and won't fit the short chamber.

If you buy a 16mm tile hole drill (about $5.00), you can cut the crimps out of cheap 2 3/4" target loads. Without the crimp, these shells open to less than 2.5"

Glue a piece of cardboard on top of the shot column. Shoot single shot - the wad might shoot loose on a round in the mag.

Picture shows the tile drill bit.

Or, you can cut the inside of the crimp off with a utility knife.

I buy rst thru prophet river. It works well. The last flat was $209 if i remember correctly. That could have been after tax though
For reloading a lee load all cut down works great.
I load for three 2.5" guns

Thank you everybody and thanks to prophet river for making an appearance as well. I’m convinced I don’t need to limit myself and can be set up with a gun in 2.5” chambering. But I just found out the one I was eyeing up sold. Haha. Back to waiting now.
Regards

Any dealer anywhere that sells Kent ammunition can order English made Gamebore ammo by the case from Ontario. If you happen to get to Lloydminster I would think Prophet River will sell you 2.5" by the box. Basic 2 3/4" 12 gauge ammo is the least expensive shotgun ammo you can buy. 12 gauge 2 1/2" is more expensive, about the same as premium 28 gauge ammo and considerably less expensive than than premium non toxic waterfowl ammo. The additional cost involved in a box or two per year for hunting purposes wouldn't amount to more than a couple of Starbucks lattes.

Clays prices are so reasonable the only price difference is if you’re not in Lloyd and gotta foot the shipping bill. Try em out and enjoy an old shotgun vs risking damage to it and yourself.

Are you looking for a vintage shotgun ?
I may be able to help with that ,

Cat, I understand you’ve fired an older shotgun or two haha.
This all started out with seeing a drilling gun at a local auction. Couldn’t go that day and had to take the kids somewhere and couldn’t do online bidding while driving. I wanted to hunt with that thing and I’ve seen it turned around and sold for more than double it went for the day I had an opportunity on it. So now that I’m down this road, I’m still interested in a shotgun or drilling. My elk spot had guys blasting birds all day while we were nearby and into elk. So with a drilling I feel I could really just take what the good Lord gives me and hunt birds and elk and bear with one gun. Cost is unrealistic for me on some of those fine specimens so if I go just the shotgun route, I’d get a 12ga semi for the big birds and a sxs for the upland. Now I can’t decide if I want 20ga (preference) or if I should just get a low cost 12ga (the head says keep it simple). Been checking used gun sites and tradeex and don’t know enough about what I should get.

Ultimately I want a drilling with sxs double 12ga or 20ga (16 is probably easier to find and less of a pain to feed than I presume) and either 9.3x74R or 7x65R down below. Tall order when supply is so limited.
Alternatively I know which low cost semi 12ga I’ll look for and need to decide on which grouse gettin clay buster to get. This thread helped me understand I don’t need to avoid the 2.5s. I’m kinda stuck on a sxs despite thinking the o/u is likely better ... but I’ve never seen an o/u that piques my interest like a sxs :)
I guess, poke holes in any of my reasoning if you see it but that’s tough with guns as we all know wants tend to supersede reason.
If you can guide me better based on the long story, fill your boots
Thanks all.
