So one of my pins on my "Savage Stevens 512 12g Gold Wing o/u" broke today out on the field. Wondering where my best bets for finding a replacement parts and how to fix it. I tried google but only thing that I'm finding are reviews on the guns and no guides or part list.

Thanks.

Turkeyslayer,

Thanks.... No gun smith in my town, and honestly would rather learn how to do it myself.

Still looking for a source for parts, anyone?

Try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton, ph#780-489-5711, e-mail: wgp@westerngunparts.com
I have good experience dealing with them, fast and reliable service. Order couple of firing pins,if they have them in stock, replace one and keep another one as a spare...

WGP was the first place I emailed, they're wicked and scary fast but unable to help.

"Sorry we have not even received a schematic from them to order parts."

Bump, I've tried Savage Arms.com part finder and it says the same thing
"Sorry we have not even received a schematic...."
Right now I'm in contact with someone running a Savage Arms facebook page but they don't seem to have a clue.

Regardless, still looking.

The "how to" part should be pretty easy. If it is built like most over-unders you will see the pins that hold in the firing pins once your remove the buttstock. They shouldn't be hard to get out. Make sure when you put them back in that the slide freely over the retaining slot in the pin. I had one in recently that someone had tried to drive the pin into when the slot wasn't lined up and marred the pin. The pin would then stuck from the bur it caused.

As for firing pins, e-gunparts has always been my go-to when I can't find the parts I need at a Canadian supplier.

If you need to get pins made, PM me. I can make you new ones with the old ones as templates. If you want to send the whole receiver to me I can do the whole job for you.

Numrich (e-gunparts) is good to deal with. You got lucky, they charged me the $25 "handling charge" on my last order!! I usually just order spare parts to offset the $25.
