Where to find a true 'M9'

Well, you can get a Beretta M9 "commercial" ...which I have...though not a "true" M9. A U.S. Military Beretta M9 has a slightly different camber dimensions (I think?) and serial number stamped on the hammer, and slightly different roll marks on the slide.

But a "Commercial" Beretta M9 is just as ###y and amazing pistol to shoot/have. The Beretta M9 pistol is harder to find however, the 92FS are everywhere, and couple M9A1's floating around.

Just check all the sponsors/dealers on this site, and maybe you'll find a Beretta M9 for sale.

Good luck ;)

Before you discount it, try a Girsan. You can get it in almost any config. Normal 92f, railed 92f, full size, compact, black, stainless. All actual Beretta parts fit, and most are simple bolt ons too. Some of the Girsan parts are better, IE full length steel guide rod and trigger.

I've had a bunch of different Beretta's including a commercial M9 very minor differences vs 92FS. Whats your reason for wanting the M9?

When military places an order the design is locked in by contract, whereas the civilian version improves the design constantly. When the military reordered more M9s in 2001 they finally updated to the latest polymer coated components that have been used on the commercial guns for a while. Also the latest M9A1 military pistol is marked "92FS" on the slide as its shared with the commercial guns, and the frame is marked "Type M9A1" after the serial number. So right now both the military M9A1 and commercial 92A1 are up to date with each other. Once there will some improvements again the M9A1 will stay the same and the 92A1 will continue to be improved. So in reality its best to get the commercial version if you plan to shoot it and want all the latest design improvements.

Different camber dimensions? Is this to help it corner better? <JK> we knew what you meant :)
