As the title states, is there anywhere in Canada that sells/stocks non-corrosive .303 British FMJ rounds?

Cheers and thanks in advance,

J

The last time I saw bulk 303 ball was 25 years ago. It was from Yugoslavia and was selling for 15 rounds for 5 dollars. Their civil war put a end to it.

Yup. Last bulk I saw was Greek HXP and that was quite some time ago.

Now, you buy new (PRVI being the best bang for $) or get comfortable with reloading, cast being the cheapest/most plentiful.

Last time I checked, Bill Klein at the Wood Joynt in Brandon had three boxes (like a box filled with 20rd boxes) that had been untouched for quite some, don't know if he'd do a bulk deal though.

Remington sells a 174gr FMJ/BT load but they're on the small side (.3105" or smaller). Looking at $1/round though. Some dealers might give you a discount if you buy a case at a time.

I didn't pull any to measure but they tumbled and keyholed in the No.1 Mk.3 I used to have. It would tumble with .310" and .3105" but wouldn't with .311" or .312" so I would guess the Remington ones are somewhere around .3105" or smaller.

Some gun shows have limited amounts of WW2 surplus available but they run the gambit from $.50/round to $1.50/round. Last bag I bought (60rnds for $40 or something?) was 90% dud primers (early to mid 1940's mixed British headstamps). I pulled the bullets and loaded them with new powder and primers in boxer cases. I still have all the cordite spaghetti in a cup somewhere collecting dust; was going to burn it on Canada Day.

Unfortunately there are no more case lots of surplus .303 British. No more "cheap" ammo. The last surplus .303 I bought was 20 years ago and it was the South African. The suppliers back then told me that was it for surplus .303 and it seems they were right.

On a side note you may want to consider reloading as an economical way of shooting .303 British. Its defiantly cheaper than commercial ammo

I have a couple hundred rounds of of 303 ball in my ammo locker. Paper box, rounds separated with some type of wax paper. Certainly corrosive as head stamped 1944. I havent owned a 303 since I was in my 20's...so its mighty old stuff. Sorry for the hi-jack as not my intention...

That ship sailed many years ago and was torpedoed in the harbour by NRCAN. Haven't seen cases of .303 Ball outside of the Queen's Service since the early 80's.
100 rounds of Prvi is running $37.50 at Budget. .311". 150 grains.

Haha thanks for the replies fellow nutters! I knew it was a shot in the dark but since that is how most of us came to be on this planet I thought I'd give it a shot.
