Hello,

I'm searching for a CZ 527, new, in 7.62X39mm cal. I want a deep rich red color stock, with tigerstripes in it.

Any clue who has some of those in stock and has an excellent phone service and can sift through it's inventory to find such beauty?

Or anything very close to it.

Thanks!

Here's the other pics. My pics are not good ones, the wood is really nice on this CZ and my pics do not do it justice. But just a little something to keep you motivated. ;)

Wood is luck of the draw... most manufacturers do not sort wood, unless they are doing a special run of rifles... and retailers can't even really request "nice wood" what gets shipped is what you get... some folks like Clay at PR might have a connection "on the ground" at the manufacturer or distributor that "might" be able to identify and ship a nice one... but I'm betting Clay won't want to ride that horse too hard...

You're right - I was alluding to a few things: that it is possible to get a CZ with nice wood, as that seems to be a bit of a myth that they don't. Also, some vendors do have connections with other vendors/distributors to possibly find what you are looking for within the gun community and sometimes you just need to ask - and Clay is one of those vendors that is at least worth asking because he will try to help you; he has brought in items for me that local vendors weren't even willing to try.

I think Clay has connections in the US so he has a bigger pot to pick from. Who ever the importer is in Canada seems to have a love affair with beech stocked CZ rifles...all I ever see them stocked in.

Clay does have connections and he will do everything he can to help his customers... "BUT"... I am saying that it is not reasonable to request a specific "grade" of wood unless you are willing to pay for the hugher grade wood... most people want Grade VII wood at a Grade I price.

This is a very desirable rifle-ammo combo. Nice wood, CZ quality bolt action & just about perfect caliber. Unfortunately the CZ is premium priced!!!
The guys at Savage, who could make a similar gun in their AXIS line are too difficult to contact. Other similar rifle makers are too timid to make them. And my suggestions to Marlin to make one in their lever gun was rebuffed.
I'm definitely NOT impressed with Marlin, Winchester, Savage, Ruger, Remington for ignoring this great combo!!

Sub $1000 isn't really "premium" territory...lol

For half the price you can get a Zastava M85 that is also all wood and steel, but the action is pretty rough compared to CZ.
Pretty rifles though, and great triggers once adjusted.

Unfortunately in this case half the price buys half the rifle. + mine would not fire surplus even 50% of the time.

Having said that my CZ 527 in .223 also has problems with surplus ammo.

The deepest and richest red stocked CZ527 that I have seen was an ebony edition in .223 kind of like this:

Although it was limited production you might be able to find the stock and put it on a 7.62x39...

I know where there is a new deep red .223 ebony for sale PM if interested.
