Can anybody tell me where to find dissasembly/assembly instuctions for s&w 627 and a parts breakdown? What are the differences from a 629? Thanks M.

A 627 is an 8 round .38/.357. A 629 is a 6 round .44 mag. Both are 'N' frame revolvers. The innards are the same. There's a manual and parts list on Smith's site. Although, Wildfowlhunting's link will do as well.
Add the W's.

Thanks Wildfowlhunting, I have break downs of most s&w's but this is 1 of the ones with an internal lock and I don't want any bad surprizes ie: Sproing, what the h*** was that and where did it go? lol M.

Thanks Sunray, I already looked at that site, it's the same thing that came with the gun, just a safety disclaimer with no breakdown or disassembly instructions. In 2001 S&W started to add internal locks so the innards are different but I'm leary opening it up without a heads-up as to how much different and I can't seem to find anything on the S&W site. M.

Thanks Bearman, I already have those and they are great.I contacted Steve and he says just go with the new style n frame scematic. This is what I got from S&W,

Hello,

Unfortunately, due to liability reasons, we do not have disassembly instructions or parts diagrams available.

Regards,

Dave
from S&W,

Apparently we're too stupid to do it ourselves! Or it may have something to do with the deal S&W made with the Clinton Gore bunch involving code of conduct and insurance. M.
