do any of the manufacturer still sell new double action?
the only one i could find were bulldog type with big fat synthetic grip. i am looking for a S&W model 19, look alike or in the same style. cant even find one used, its strange that people have gone back to single action.

I see nice used ones frequently on EE...just have to be prepared to part with the coin :)

edit @kolik1: will check if i can find one in stock. are they steel framed?

checked them all, will wait until my next range visit to see it none are on the billboard and if not ill consider Ruger GP100.
too bad they dont make them like they used to, i might be old-fashioned.

I don't see the problem. Every gun store and online retailer has new double action revolvers from Smith, Ruger, Taurus etc etc.

I was wondering the same thing. They are more common than single actions as far as I can tell. And what's wrong with going used? I have twice and couldn't be happier. I love my 586-3 and my 17-4.

alright, so its either a Alfa Proj or Ruger.
anyone know if the Ctech are good reliable gun? can they handle full 357 all day?

If you're planning on full house .357Mag use primarily then I'd suggest you stick with the Ruger GP100 or a S&W 686. Or if you want a blued gun the S&W 586. Both of these are a little bulkier and slightly heavier than a S&W K frame gun like the Model 19 or the Alpha Project and will stand up to the regular pounding from this energetic round a lot better.

Mine is steel framed. I spent an afternoon at the range and put around 200 .357 and another 200 38 special through it and never ran into an issue. It was dirty as hell when i got it home, but it ran fine all afternoon. AP also makes stainless ones, but i haven't actually seen one in Canada yet.

Phllipine made colt detective special clone.

Found this quote online about it:

We bought the design from Colt, It is a colt Detective special, It will
handle occasional +p Loads, The materials that we use are not as good as
Colt used hence the price.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Other than being super economical in price, I don't know about a revolver that can't even handle regular 38spl +p loads though. That would bother me.

This one looks interesting, and low in price too.

Smith or Ruger would be my vote. there is charter arms and taurus/rosi as well but i haven't heard many things about them either.
