On the Ithaca 37 "Stakeout" model they had a regular ringed forearm with a strap attached so the shooters hand wouldn't go in front of the muzzle of the short 13" barrel.

Does anyone know where these forends, or the parts to attach the strap can be found?

For that matter, does anyone know where to find the short barrels up here?

Thanks for tip. I checked the Pachmayr site but all they have are their vindicator grips. Checked Choate as well, but no dice.

Does any one on here have one of these forearms? Pics? Maybe I could make a set myself.

I did track down a shop that has them, but they wanted $150 for the assembly, ouch...

Leg, I would not hold my breath on that as in the USA, these Stakeout M37 Ithacas are classified as Class 3 firearms. I think they lowered the tax on short barrelled shotguns but they were/are federally controlled items.
I believe all shotgun parts from USA are a no-no right now, due to American laws. Unsure of all details....

Just for your info, these Stakeout Ithacas, (last made about 1987)had a "HG" prefix in the serial number. Referring to "handguard" not "handgun." (12 and 20 gauge only) Sometimes in certain USA cities, these receivers and fore/ends, were sold in public auction from police armories to local citizens. However the short barrels were destroyed prior to sale.

Prior to all the recent madness, in the 1980s an Edmonton dealer legally imported 12 gauge, 14 inch barrels, sometimes(!?!) they pop up on CGN.

The book, Stressfire 2, by Maasad Ayoob, has the most info I have personally read, including range reports, courtesy of Silverback.

Were they in Canada or the US? If you can get it...don't expect to find it cheaply.
