Does anyone know of a Konus dealer in Canada. I am looking for an entry level spotting scope. I know where I can get it in the US but I would like to find a Canadian dealer.

Thanks,

I searched the internet until I reached the end, ans couldn't find a Konus Dealer in Canada. For a great price in the US try

Thanks fot the tip. Their pricing is much better than the other source I had found. I contacted them and they gave me a USPS shipping quote as I will never use UPS due to their high brokerage fees  (they got me once but never again). I will be placing my order this weekend.

Hey guys, call Champion's and tell them I sent you. Maybe they can work out some deals for me when I see them in Aug at Camp Perry and .:D
Syxx15's Konus scope is just as clear as my Kowa. At about 1/4 the price and 1/3 the weight, I might have to pick one up for my daughter to use.

BTT. Just want to find out if the guys that ordered these Konus Spotting scopes got them. Would you please give us a range report or your imput on these scopes.

Maybe the shipping is free, but the UPS brokerage fees would not apply. Whenever ordering anything from the US always ask them to ship USP (US Post)

This is true, but UPS have a flat rate for brokerage and boarder fees, and they are fairly reasonable.

You must work for UPS:p Everytime I have ever ordered anything from the US and had it shipped UPS, my ass was sore for weeks:mad:

Obviously, you need to change the type of lubricant that you use.;)

If I can safe you a little reaming from UPS, it would be my pleasure. The next time you are ready to have something shipped from the USA to Canada and you do not want to get a royal screwing, send me a PM. I will put you in contact with a UPS broker who will return the smile to your face.

Regards
Robert

I got mine this weekend. I purchased the Konus 20-60x80mm. It came with a carrying case, Tripod and camera adapter. First impressions are very positive:D . Optics are very clear even at higher magnification. However, I have never looked in other spotting scopes to compare . There is a small built in sun shade which I find quite nice.

The only negative comment that I have is that there is very little eye relief. I barely have enough eye relief with my Oakley M-frames and they fit very close to my face. I think that some types of shooting glasses would have to be removed in order to use the spotting scope.

I will be going to the range this weekend to try it out and I will comment further. I am going to try out my 223 and 308 at longer ranges for the first time.

I recieved my 80mm last week as well. $200.00 US plus $30.00 Cdn at the post office.
I've not been to the range yet but the optics look good. There seems to be lot's of focus range which I find nice. I've looked through some scopes that were hard to focus because the adjustment was too sensitive.
The finish on the outside is not rubber armoured but more of a thin plastic coating.
Lens caps are basic and the tripod is light duty.
Resting my shooting glasses on the rubber eye piece is neccessary for full view with glasses but it's easy to do and comfortable.
I like the option of being able to rotate the scope in it's mount to allow viewing from the side.
I'll post a report after the range as well...

I have had one for 18 months.
The lens is large and clear with only slight distortion out near the edges. The eye relief is ok when I wear glasses i usually bump the eye piece I have to remember to use the rubber eye cup as a sort of stop with glasses. With the naked eye i role the eye piece down and think i get a better image...That could do to the quality of my glasses and not the eye piece)
The variable power works well. turned up to 60 i was still able to pick up vapour trail when spotting others.
I found when i adjusted the eye piece it felt gritty not smooth like a Leica or Swaroski.(sp)

The sun shade is nice but i can see it becoming loose over time.

Hey Maynard if you are going to the intro day at Borden on the April 29th I will have it with me.

Trevor, I was with Syxx15 when he bought his at Camp Perry. In fact I may have talked him into the Konus, it looks just as clear as my Kowa TSN-1.
I just might be in Borden for the Intro Day, man do I need some trigger time.
