Cruisin around another SVT forum, saw a thread about where to find import marks. Upon looking at mine, under the wood and metal top guard or on the reciver under the scope rails, nothing there. Is that something for the states only ? My bbq sks has the " made is russia" 7.62x39mm i assume that is an import mark. My SVT40 came from Corwin, i emailed and asked where it was from and he said Poland.. Do they do these on Russians only ?

Any info appreciated thanks

My SVT-40s don't have any import marks... better that way as the engraving detracts from the value.

I only have one "red rifle" (my '34 Tula Mosin Nagant) that has "import marks"... and they are hidden under the upper handguard.

Most in Canada won't have import/export marks. Especially now that there's the import ban for things from Russia.

Mostly, our imports were coming from the Ukraine and Poland before. Now mostly just Poland.

Cool thanks for the info gentlemen.. Just i find myself looking over the rifles when i glance towards the safe and have to take them out. I think all the marks and history is so neat and cool that i have a little piece of WW2. Always thought the SVT40 was a great looking rifle. I just like learning new things about these rifles. so thanks for the reply's guys
