Where to find teardown instruction for M14...

Hey everyone,

I am finally getting my M14, ordered one from Marstar. I want to have everything set for when it comes, so I have my stock on the way, my port 308 came today, bought some simple green, and just need some grease and some pictures to guide me in tearing it down.

Where can I go for teardown instructions? Also what kind of grease that is widely available should I use? Is lithium wheel bearing grease ok? Do I just spray the parts with Simple Green and wipe them down or do I soak them in a bucket with some of the dilutaed solution?

Last question.... is there anything that I SHOULD not disassemble/not clean with the simple green?

I knew about Surplusrifle.com, but I would also like to hear the answers from the experts on the other questions. I'm sure many of us would like to hear too, given that so many of us have apparently ordered two or more M-305's!

you can actually download the US Army pams on all of their wpns etc. Thats what I did for the M14 and the 45.

Its FM 23-8, Dept of the Army field manual. US Rifle 7.62mm, M14 and M14E2.

its easy #### it and put the safety on and pull down on the trigger guard the trigger will fall out and then the sock will come off. you don’t need to break it down much more then that
