I've had my shotgun about 2 weeks now and havent had a chance to fire it. anyone know where in the durham region area (east of toronto) that i can take it and shoot it? i wanna go somewhere that i can properly figure out my shot pattern and see how it responds to slugs. maybe crown land or something (i dont wanna keep waiting for the range to be clear to go check my targets) plus i dont have a club membership yet. grandfather said hed take me to shoot some skeet but shooting a moving target i think defeats the purpose of figuring out where my sites line up to. any input would be great thanks.

Crown Land near TO is used by all kinds of riff-raff. Hikers, picknickers, etc. Finding a safe place on Crown Land to pattern a shotgun will be difficult. Moreso to sight in with slugs. Slugs will carry a whole lot farther than shot. Your best bet really is to join a club.

As I recall in my younger years, I had family that lived not to far from you "Hanover"

Why not talk to a farmer? do you have any friends that have a farm?

Sorry, I cant help you out with crown land around there as the last time I was there was when was a kid :D

Good Luck

I would suggest talking to farmers! Go door to door, present yourself in a respectable manner and be polite. You may even be asked to clean up a gopher problem :) Good Luck!
