So I sent my bolt out to get an oversized knob installed and the envelope arrived ripped open, bolt missing. I'm going to start the claim tomorrow maybe they might find it (doubt it), but in the mean time I was wondering who has a bolt for a Rem 700 police(.308) and how much do they go for?

Get in touch with your local gun dealer and find out who does his warranty work on REMs.
Sometimes these guys have extra bolts around. If so he will want to check it in your reciever as far as headspace goes. good luck!

bolt

Lyle at "Ultimate Accuracy" in St. Andrews is the Remington warranty rep for your area, he may have one. You will most likely need the headspace addressed by either setting the barrel back and re-chambering or just deepening the chamber some so make sure the insurance covers all. He can do the bolt knob too...I can pm you with his phone number and address if you want.
Pacific tool and gauge have them as well but will be expensive once everything is added...if you need complete bolt, shroud, and firing pin, plus headspace adjustment.

Thanks, Ultimate Accuracy was going to be my second call, after I deal with can post. With any luck my bolt made it into a lost and found and I won't have to buy a new one, although it is tempting because then I get to have the barrel set back.
