Where to get lead?

I have started trying to collect lead... Wheel weights seem to be hard to come by atm, but I'll keep looking. One suggestion, check out any harbours, marinas etc. I just got a line on a lead keel from a sailboat. Gonna test the hardness and pray that it's not full of zinc, but I think I can get him to chainsaw me a few hundred lbs. trying to keep it under $1/lb.

Also, try making friends with a plumber, they seem to find old lead piping during renovations

Lead from a Keel is likely to be soft, if not pure lead. Ballast could be anything that melts.

There was truck loads of it laying just down the road when they tore out this tower on the electric generator but the chain link fence made it hard to get too. Was too shy to try and find somebody to ask about it. Guy in town has several hundred pounds of it for me if I ever find him actually working.
