Anyone know where to find 20 round pinned or otherwise neutered to Allan Rock specification AR15 mags?

The 30's are everywhere but are a real pain in the ass when shooting prone or off the bench. Anyone know where to get 20/5's in Cannuckistan? Preferably at reasonable prices?

Elwood Epps has genuine Colt 20 rounders from time to time. The price reflects their rarerity at $55.00.

Tried Wolverine, they usually have Armalites, but can't get them anymore due to Iraq. they have 30's left and the truncated 5's, but I can;t get a magpull onto a 5

Guess I'll call Epps...

OK, Epps had one 20rd (Colt made) mag left. Said they sold nearly all of them with .223 Pump Remingtons (?) Not sure what gun he means.

Anyway, $74.58 shipped - ouch! But I needed it, so it's on the way.

Didn;t need the mag to be brand name Colt, but since it's going in a Colt made HBAR I guess I won't complain too much.

i got my 20/5 rounder from TSE (black teflon finish)

Not a biggie since I already ordered the Colt mag from Epps, but what make are the TSE mags and what's the price?

I kinda like that the mag is a Colt and going in a Colt match HBAR. I didn't have a real Colt marked mag for it yet...

Typically, they are "green follower" DPMS mags, pinned "right" to hold 5 and a half rounds. Lets you insert a full mag with the bolt closed. $30.00 as I recall.

yeah, what skeetgunner said...

i think they are more or less the same, probably by the same contracters in Kansas...
though i think my 20rd DPMS mag has a DPMS base plate, where as my 30rd DPMS mag had the contract mfg's base plate.. no biggy tho...

i just like the mags i get from TSE, because they are priced well/quick shipping, and fits my Dlask lower.

30 rd mags look cool, but here in Canada I find the concept of the 20 rd mag more practical. Less prone to jamming, smaller, lighter, and not in the way shooting prone or from the bench.

The LCF of the 30's is there though...
