Where to get surplus 7.62x51mm NATO?

I am thinking of getting a Norinco M-14S, and am looking for surplus 7.62x51mm NATO.

Does anyone know where I can get some relatively cheaply?

My searches have turned up talk of South African, and Portugese rounds, but no word on Canadian suppliers.

Any other options out there for this round? Is it worthwhile to try to bring some up from the states?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did try to search and could not find the answers I am looking for.

Cheap and surplus should not be used in the same sentence , you see the odd batch in the EE , your best bet is the silver box winny @ cdn tire for 20 bucks a box or wss
 
You just need to be in the right place (EE) at the right time.

On and off you'll see somebody selling surplus. You're best bet is to place a WTB ad in the EE and see what turns up.

I did this and got an excellent deal on both Norinco .308 and surplus DA 7.62x51Nato.

Anybody know the approximate cost per round for handloading this round?

I have never hand loaded before, I think the initial cost for gear is around $400, is this correct?

"...the initial cost for..." More like $500ish plus the cost of dies, shell holder and components. A lot depends on what brand you buy.
