"Vltor's bipod (or bipod legs) take a different approach to the rail mounted bipod. Instead of a one-piece assembly that attaches to the bottom of a rail, the Vltor bipod legs mount to the host weapon separately on the side rails. Instead of folding beneath the handguard, the Vltor bipod legs stow above the centerline of the bore, reminiscent of the Sako TRG 22/42. This puts the center of gravity of the weapon lower, resulting in a naturally more stable position.

The Vltor bipod utilizes the carbon fiber-reinforced TangoDown legs from the ACB-4 bipod"

Does anyone know if these are available in Canada? If not, is there anything similar?

Nope

Unobtainium here

I think 'Unobtainium' is a strong word to use for a Bipod.....It would be ok to use for a M61 Vulcan though :)

Ebay :)

Not from the U.S of course...that would not be kosher.

Hong Kong baby! Everything comes from china now anyway.........

Had them. Did not like them cuz it kept on getting snagged on my clothing. So I traded them for a collapsible butt stock. They go for about $100 US + Shipping.

Ebay - ha ha ha, I checked them out. There's an ebay store called Bravo Tac, located in Hong Kong, that makes clones of Tango Down stuff and sells it on ebay. Or at least that's what it looks like. I don't have much experience with ebay. Is this for real? Has anyone used this stuff? Looks like it might be aimed at the airsoft market.

My Bravo Tac shipment should be here next week :) -no bi-pod though-
I don't think anyone would take these out on patrol....:)
But I am pretty sure they would stand up to the hardships of paper punching at the range.

I messaged a few guys that picked up the $70 T-1 copies...One uses it on a shotgun another on a hi-power - both no probs.

Who is to say "The Real Thing" dosen't come from China anyway.
Both Daniel Defense and LMT have Asian Offices..... strange?? Lots of sales out that way?
Nowhere on the Daniel Defense website does it say 'Made in the USA', it just says..."Mr. Daniel began Daniel Defense to provide readily-available, quality small arms products in the commercial market."

Questar had one of their Asian sources manufacture a collapsable stock to meet demand...I'm sure the quality is good or they wouldn't sell it.
Marstar has their Asian suppliers..again, great products.
Canada Ammo has factories producing arms for them....again, they would not sell them if they were not good.

ummmmm, what was I trying to say... :)

So, Yes, the chinese stuff might not be perfect, but more often than not it is more than you need. Usually for 75% less. Who knows, that product you buy might actually be the real deal, but in a brown box.

ok, i'm done

rivetc78, I thank you for adding info to the post. I asked a question and you were kind enough to give me some options. I would never have known it was an option if you hadn't mentioned it, and I'm thinking about giving those bipod legs a try. I wouldn't mind hearing a review from the guys that bought them though, especially after they've had a chance to use them for a while. Who knows, maybe this will start a trend. Thanks again.
