Where to hunt near Montreal?

I was considering a local park or Zec, but hoping to find something closer and with easier access when the white stuff's piled up.

The 'plan' is to hunt every couple of weeks as a way to stay sharp and in shape. Now that deer season is done for me I don't want to just hibernate on the couch for the winter ;)

Either rabbit or partridge... Pretty much any edible small game. Any suggestions?

I'd say around Zone 8 would be good for small game hunting (Ormstown, Huntingdon, etc). I did hunt rabbit there last winter with moderate results (lot's of game, but I soon discovered that 17HMR isn't meant for hunting, it's meant to exterminate varmint, totally destroyed the poor rabbit.)

It might not be so good this year though, I saw loads of coyotes this summer, not good news for rabbits.

I spent a lot of time out past Huntington as a kid. We had a place near the US border. I suppose the big thing will be finding a place down there in 8 South that hunting is permitted, eh? How did you find a place to hunt? I considered going door to door asking permission, but that could prove very time-consuming.
