Wondering who I contact or where to look for antique firearm values.
My dad has a few older firearms he wants to get rid of:

1. Alger Arms damascus steel side by side 12ga with exposed hammers
2. Winchester model 1894, 30 W.C.F. lever action with a long heavy barrel and odd double trigger
3. winchester model 12, 12ga take down pump shotgun

None of those would be classified as antique.

The Damascus barreled shotgun would really depend on bore conditions pitting in a Damascus barrel and it’s a wall hanger.

The Winchester 94 while dime a dozen up here seem to be going for $1000+ but again condition is everything.

The Winchester model 12 they have come up and depending on condition I have seen them $500 and up

The 1894 Winchester's triggers are close together? With the close coupled double set triggers it is a special order rifle.
Condition is a major factor in determining value. Ordinary 94 carbines are bringing strong prices these days. Your Dad's rifle might have significant value. Can you get good clear photos?

20 yrs ago a nice model 12 would fetch good $, but with steel shot for waterfowl cut demand , unless black diamond traps or super nice, ie ribs, nice wood and exc condition.
300.oo is a good price these days for common good condition.
The Winchester 94, condition is everything, 300-3000.
shot gun 75.00-200.oo Condition of the barrels is the main thing, and if it is tight and nice wood.
most are wall hangers. poor demand .
Need pictures.

Id be able to give a fair value for your shotgun.
Sounds like a belgian imported sxs. I collect and shoot several Damascus/twist barreled sxs. In 12 and 16g. Given gd order...and good barrels , they can be used with black powder loads, i shoot mine all the time.. Lead shot...fiber wads...and likely its 2.5" chambers...which is a handloading thing...wads...hulls and data are avail to do that

The Alger is an economy grade Belgian gun, Wallhanger, little value. Model 12, if standard field gun $250 to maybe $500 tops, model 12 values have dropped by roughly half in the last 30 years. 1894 MAY be worth more than a standard rifle owing to double triggers( special order) and if barrel is longer than 26 inches and of heavier contour than normal might be very desirable to a collector. In my experience one special feature on a Winchester in the exception. If someone bothered to special order a rifle they usually added features.

Its sad a beautiful old SxS is worth so little. They are such nice svelt guns.

I know a lot of the inexpensive Belgian guns were not really Dmascus, but only had a Damascus like pattern applied to the barrels to make them look fancier than they were.
