Where to order powder from online?

Powder is about $20 a pound more expensive here(NL) at local stores than the "going rate", figuring if I buy in bulk and get a decent shipping cost I'll save a few bucks. Basically wondering where you guys get your powder from when you order online? Thanks for any input.

Higginsons is one name that comes up often. Best deal is probably to get some buddies together and and place as big an order as possible to defray shipping costs.

X2 for Higginsons.As stated,best to get to 21lbs order to get free shipping.Dealt with them for years and they have always offered the best prices and service.

if you really want to buy powder in bulk order from HUMMASON MFG. They are way cheaper then Higginson even with the so called free shipping. Me and fellow CGNER ordered 38lbs and with tax and shipping to manitoba it was $848 and change. A couple of the powders were on sale but there prices on 8lb jugs is very good.

If you can get a couple guys together and order a fair bit of weight its very worth it. They ship by truck and its a flat shipping fee up to 400lbs of anything they sell so the more you buy the cheaper it is per lb shipping.

I buy from both and have had great service over the years. Just a comment sometimes higginsons doesn't come in factory containers which may or may not be an issue for you. It wasn't for me since I had some empty containers of the same powder to put it in. I would ask up front is that is a concern for long term storage. Maybe they don't even sell it like that now since it was almost 2 years ago

Higginsons "Hazmat" fee is something they charge even with "free" shipping. It really is a shipping fee. No other dealer I have dealt with charges it, ie; SFRC, Canada Ammo, Budget Shooter Supply. I do not think Hummason charges it either.

Hummason charges the Hazmat fee and shipping. My order had a shipping/Hazmat fee of $135 to Saskatoon, but that was less than the sales tax I didn't have to pay.The saveings on 182 pounds was considerable.

I've ordered a pile of powder from Higginson over the years, and found that if I asked for kegs I got kegs instead of cardboard boxes. The difference in price from Hummason compared to Higginson and their free shipping seems to break even at 20-21 pounds. Anything over that and Hummason pulls away. Another thing to consider is that Hummason doesn't care what they put on the order as long as its under 400 pounds. Higginson will shipping for anything other than the free powder.

Talking to someone who doesn't even blink when you ask for 10 kegs of this, and 10 kegs of that and 10,000 215Ms is worth it all by itself.

What kind of packaging is the powder in if it isn't in factory containers?

Cardboard boxes with a heavy plastic bag for a liner. In a surpriseing amount of cases he pours powder out of 8 pound jugs and into a smaller box.

for some wired reason Higginson likes to sell 7 lb boxes instead of 8 lb jugs.

but i guess why sell 8 lbs when you can sell 7 and charge more money
