I am a new shooter and I am looking for a place where I can shoot beyond 100 yards. I live in the hamilton area and would ideally like a place to shoot around 200-1000 yards and within an hour drive of hamilton. I would also like to shoot prone and be able to use a chronograph once in awhile.
I know the Ontario Rifle Association (ORA) can provide this for me however, they only have a few events a year. I can't always go when they have events due to work scheduling and i would like to go shoot more than a couple times a year.
Is there a range or anything else out there that can fulfill my request?

Thanks

If you are willing to travel to Borden, once the shooting season starts again next spring the ORA will have plenty of dates. If you shot every ORA practice/match you would be busy from about mid April to the end of Oct.

The ORA will have shooting at Camp Borden just about every week end next year.

I run some short range shoots (100,200 and 300) about 4 times a year. PM me and I will put you on the email list for info and invites.

There really isn't anywhere to shoot long range in SW Ontario because the houses are too close to the bush for hunting with anything but shotguns. About the only way to shoot those distances is find a farmer friend with a field backing on the lake. Good luck finding a place and if you do find one please PM ma as I have some rifles that need to be sighted in.
