Where to Shoot in Ottawa area

Hello all,

I just moved from Manitoulin Island to the Ottawa area, and am unsure of some decent places to shoot long range targets/critters/etc.
Im just wondering what opinions some of you have on some places to shoot in the Ottawa area.

I guess the best place for long range is Connaught, at the end of Carling Ave. It's an Army range, but we civvies can use it if we are members of one of the clubs there. I don't know the rules around it. For critters, if you can find a farmer that'll let you shoot them, that's your best bet.
