Where to shop?

Thinking of getting my hands on my first pistol. I'm going to be in the Halifax area and wondering if theres anywere to browse some besides the surplus store? I'd rather shop in person as opposed to the internet, that's just my way.
 
I'm also the same way when considering a purchase, but google and YouTube are wonderful machines. I would sooner read 10 articles about the make and model than listen to some pimply faced kid that only knows about the next tacticool item or add on.

When it comes to purchase the firearm I keep it to the EE as most of the members are quite responsive and already have the extras included for bellow the shelf price. My .2 cents
 
I'm sure you're familiar with hickok45? His youtube videos are gold. I agree personal research is important but I'm still looking to drop by a few places to check out some firearms first hand.
 
Does Freedom Ventures have a walk in store though? I get the impression it's an order only place. I appreciate the tip though, I had no idea about them until now.
