Hello folks. I have Troy coming ( don't hate me yet :D) - I think its good time to start shopping all other little things for it. I am planning on making CQB-ish set up - will cut barrel to 18.50001" and put folder adaptor. I did some search but I wonder if someone know a good source of stock folding adaptor, stock butt, recoil pads, foregrips, pistol grips - the usual things. Another question is what aiming device should I use? Any decent red dot types with small (1-2MOA) and bright dot? Anything that may switch from 1 to some 3x-4x? I am totally uneducated in this field.

Also if anybody can suggest ways of dealing with recoil. I know, 308 doesn't kick that bad, but with shorter barrel I think I will have to put some decent aggressive muzzle break to deal with flash and recoil. What can you suggest?

For a folding adapter, good question...

Stock ? A magpul CTR sounds good try brownells.com you can also get the end plate, castle nut and extension tube there (split the firearm parts in 100$ batches)

Pistol grip ? Magpul MIAD, Falcon ergo and FAB makes nice ones.

For aiming, depending on your budget: I have a falcon 1.5-5x30SIR on nightforce ultralight rings awaiting the same stock myself.

Brake ? Look for PWS's DNTC .308 or FSC-308 at questar's

The short barrel and that stock don't recoil any worse than a regular M 14. I just have a reamed out Norinco flashider on the end of mine. As far as buttstocks and accessories Fabsports has a good selection. He also has some decent muzzlebrakes.
