Yeah, I reload. But my 6.5 setup isn't complete yet, so I'm buying some ammo.
Where the hell is all the decently priced 6.5??? The privi ammo is $26 but it's sold out everywhere.
I can only find mid-low $30s and up.

Mid to low $30's IS decently priced for decent 6.5x55 ammo.

There was some Fiocci around a while back at a few sponsors and some Hornady Custom International a few places as well, but they were in the $30's like you say. Tradex usually has the best selection that I have seen.

The price of ammo has gone up exponentially over the last year and it's only going to increase again.

Without trying to be obvious it's time to finish your 6.5 reloading set up.

One question, how on earth do you only have a "partial" set up???? Does this mean you only load for one cartridge and don't have a press/dies???

Reloading always brings out the best in a rifle and the Swede Mauser is no exception. The 6.5x55 is a very accurate ctg in a well set up rifle with a good barrel, bedding and sights. There are also 6.5mm match grade bullets available.

Yuup- reloading is the way to go. I have a M38 that would shoot under an inch and a half consistently at 100 yds with the military sights. 4064 powder and Hornady 140 gr SP's. Put a lot of turkeys in my freezer when turkey shoots were common. 35 yrs later the shoots are gone and my eyes are a 35 yrs older. So is the rifle but I have a feeling that it is still capable of that kind of accuracy. Powder was less than 20 bucks a lb and those bullets less than 20 a hundred. I see them now for 45.00+. Norma was the only brass available and it was hard to find. Can't think of a negative thing to say about Swedish Mausers other then the price of ammo.

We have PPU 6.5x55 Swede, 139gr SP in stock, ready to ship to your local dealer. Model #PP6.2

PM for me a list of stocking dealers.

Thanks!

I load 38.5 gr of 4064 for my M38, pushing a 140 grain Hornady soft point. Seems to match the sights.

For my Tikka T3 Lite, 40.5 grains of 4064, pushing 140 grain Sierra match kings, or 139 grain Lapua Scenars.

I bought 500 rounds of Prvi from Tradex... now I have brass to reload. Check with Tradex though, you might find some... and if you buy in bulk you save on shipping.

Sorry to hear about your inflated prices in the UK! wow!

Prvi is about $25-$29 per box of 20. You can also get it on sale, and I paid as low as $19 per box.
