I have a friend who is inheriting a rare H and H fully engraved double shotgun.
He is wondering where he could get it insured in case of theft and fire.
His normal insurance will not cover anything over 20k in a single item value.

Not certain I can help in detail, but for a first step, I am pretty sure that you can't get insurance for "priceless" - am thinking your friend will need very good documentation regarding its value - and not likely from the Internet! - if he was ever going to try to make a claim. I don't own anything valuable like that, but would be very surprised if an insurance broker would not be able to draw up a rider for that specific item - we have had no problem doing so to extend our homeowner insurance to cover things that weren't included in the basic policy, mostly liability coverage, for an additional premium.

1st of all it would not be near priceless 90% of h&h shotguns that are 20.000.00 -100.000.00 is the royal model also the paradox model . Many h&h shotguns can be bought for 7000 -20.000.00$

Thanks for this bit of reality. Most of us drive vehicles that cost more to purchase than this H & H is likely worth. I had a Purdey in my possession last month. Came to a friend who knows little about guns in the same way as to the OP’s friend. Likely a $25-$35,000 gun. Was nice to shoot but I liked some of my own better. At the end of the day they are just shotguns.

There I fixed it for you, LoL .

Why doesnt your friend ( question to the op) ask his insurance company whom might be able to assist him in locating an insurance company who might be able to carry the insurance on this gun?

Nine times out of ten they will have knowledge of a reputable company who will carry the insurance and not only they they will have several reputable appraisers to recommend as well.
