which 150 grain bullet

I wonder if Nosler is still making the 160 gr. Partition ? I havent seen them for sale anywhere, could be interesting for big game woods hunting considering the .298 SD .

I use Speer 150 gr Flatbase for load work-up and range work, and switch to 150 gr Nos Partition for hunting. These two bullets have very similar ballistic co-efficients, and out of my 270's have shot to the same point of impact.

Going to reload some 150 grain bullets for a 270. Anybody have any preferences for bullet type. usualy use Sierra game kings or hornady interlocks

i prefer bullets that shoot itty bitty groups.
all the other features are decided after the group size is finalized.

In other words..
There is no point is going into it with a single bullet in mind, it may just be that your wished favorite will not shoot in your rifle. Then it's back to the drawing board.

FWIW: Sierra's for some reason seem to shoot well in many rifles, with it often being the accuracy potential bullet of choice for many. YMMV

we use 140 hornady interlocks with great success on moose and deer ,, they will pass through a deer on a broadside shot, but he will not go far,, i dont even consider the more expensive bullets anymore interlocks all the way,,wade

I don't think either one of those bullets will hold together in big game. Maybe there are better ones now, but the good old 150 grain Nosler Partition works great.
I don't think you need anything heavier than 150 grain and the Nosler should shoot excellently in a well tuned rifle.

H4831 said it all, I use 150gr Nosler BT to work load, and hunt with the partitions they print the same place in my gun and tight. The new accubons shot well also never tried them on game.
and try H4831 powder hard to beat.

If you're planning to hunt big deer, moose, elk, bear, buffalo etc., here's a quote from the current "Rifle" magazine:

"So while the gun press remains embroiled in all sorts of minutiae, vetting
one product against another in the ever present media hyperbole - while
rifles, cartridges and whatever come and go - at least one product that was
universally praised back in the 1950s remains the standard by which all
others are judged today: NosIer's Partition. Now there's something that just
isn't worth getting into an argument over".

Disregard this if you're just punchin' holes in paper. Not very cost effective for that.:)
