I would say CZ but if the new Savages come with accu-triggers, they make an interesting bargain 17HMR....

You bugger you! I just searched all over Savages website and rimfirecentral looking for news of a Savage HMR rifle with accu-trigger.
"..if the new Savages come with accu-triggers, they [would] make an interesting bargain 17HMR". Oh well...

Actually bang for buck i would go 917v instead of 917vs just because is its not going to be any less accurate (all of the guns mentioned have about the same accuray potential), and the price difference gets you a rifle basix trigger. I myself just did the normal home trigger job and my trigger improved significantly.

About the only real difference between all of them is looks. The savage and the marlin are garrenteed to need trigger work (both remedied with home trigger work or a drop in). As i understand it the CZ mayor may not, need trigger work too.

Pick the one you like they are all winners

17HMR

I bought the Savage (with bull barrel) and I shimed the trigger and it is amazing. I have the trigger pull down to 3.5-4lbs. For now I am using the BSA sweet 17 scope (3-12 x 40) and can hit quarters at 100yds no problem. So for just under $500 I have a great tack driver!

There is lengthly discussion on this topic at rimfirecentral.com

Here is a pic of my savage

It is very easy to improve the trigger on the savage, abot 1 hr work. However if savage comes out with an accutrigger then it will be a major advance.
