Browning, STI, Colt, GSG, any preferences or particularly ones to avoid? I've read the posts on the Browning and it looks like a winner for sure. TC

I purchased the Browning 1911-22 some months ago from The Shooting Edge Calgary and have been very happy with my purchase. It was bought as a cheap trainer for my girlfriend who is new to shooting and was a little overwelmed by the full size model, so loves the 85% scale and the reduced recoil. Please note I said cheap for ammo and training, not the $550 for the pistol, though I truely believe it is worth the extra.
It's super fun and accurate and I can't believe how good it has been, as I love to shoot it so much myself. I carried the Browning 9mm Hi Power for many years as a soldier, so I had a little soft spot for the brand but it was the aircraft grade aluminium alloy body and the solid steel barrel that sold me. Last week I but a box of 400 through it in one go without a glitch as usual, which did impress as I normally split a box and only ever fire 200 max before cleaning.
The grips are plastic (for now) and the GI sight is crap, but it always has been, but with just a drop of correction fluid on the blade of the front sight I can shoot 10 shot group on a 8" target a 20 metres, so there is nothing with the accuracy of this little gem.
Just my opinion!

i have a gsg with a 2.5 lb trigger. i have put over a1000 rounds through it so far and think it is a very well made gun for the money. u won't be disappointed if u happen to get one.
