Hey guys. Looking for opinions on an accurate sporter style .22-250.
I have a 700 VSSF-II that I really like but its just too heavy and cumbersome for most of what I need a '250 for.
My choice is narowed down to 2 rifles as I'm unaware of other rifles that have the features I want. If you know of any I missed, pipe up. This is what I want and like:
-accurate
-22-24" barrel in sporter contour to light varmint.
-preferably 1-12" rot or faster.
-wood
I'm narrowed down to Savage 14 American/Mod 10 predator and Remington 700 BDL.
The Remington is perfect but the 1-14" leaves out that new 53 gr. Vmax and the 60 grain Vmax.
The Savage is good but the stock leaves a bit to be desired and I know a couple guys that haven't been super impressed with their Savages (alot of other guys I know love them though).
I've owned a Ruger MKII in .22-250 but it wasn't a good match for me fit wise once I started really hunting with it. Not a fan of the Tikka T3.
Never did handle a CZ in person so I don't know much about them really.
Anything I've overlooked?
Really leaning towards the BDL and living with the 50ish grainers. Really like the added smack of the heavier ones though. Maybe a .243 would solve that issue???
