Hi Fellas

I currently have a Ruger 10 / 22 but I’m thinking of buying an upper scale but not the most expensive accurate bolt action .22 LR . I’m thinking for shooting targets also may take it grousing . What would you suggest ?

Thank You !

There are a lot of good options, you don't need to spend a ton to get good accuracy either....
How much do you want to spend?
What are your preferences for size and weight?
Do you like wood, blued steel, stainless, plastic?

Savage has a good reputation but there is something about them that does not inspire me aesthetically.

Some of the Ruger American models look pretty nice to me, and they would allow you to share magazines, though with the rumours of more dumb mag restrictions it might be wise to weight a bit depending on how you feel about that?

It's sad to think that we could be facing 5 round limits at some point if people don't wake up!

Savage for value or Anschutz if you want to go the real next step, heavy barrel of either of those 'off the shelf' bolt guns. Or a CZ 457 'MTR' if you can find it cheap used.

The rimfire ammo you shoot is what makes the difference, if you don't shoot quality ammo it's not going to matter.

Anschutz 1710 DKL for a top notch classic wood and blued steel rifle. CZ 452 LUX isn't far behind, but is ahead of the 64 series Anschutz. For an economy shooter, a 190 Anschutz does well also.

I have a Savage B22-FV (not SR) and it shoots as well as my CZ455 - both with 6-24x50 FFP-SF scopes. I'm the weak-link in the equation, I believe. Only getting average 0.5" @ 50yds. The Savage was $400 tx in a couple years ago and the CZ 455 SS Lux was $800 - but the CZ has great wood ;-) and the SS looks nicer, too.

Thanks for mentioning the ammunition I want to ask about that .
So I know of CCI but what about SK. ELEY Lapau ? Is 22 LR. ammunition and bolt actions the same as centre fires and ammunitions .
As some exact same rifles shoot the same ammunition differently ?
