Which .22 To Get?

Looking for a nice .22 for target shooting.

I'm left handed but like shooting right handed guns as long as the grip fits my hand.

Looking at the CZ 452??

I used to have a Ruger 77/22 and liked it very much but would like to try something else.

You can't go wrong with a CZ 452. I have one and love it!

Have a CZ 452 Style with a leupold 6-18 AO, fine dot and target turrets. with some good ammo you will hit the same hole at 100m. The only thing better is an Anschutz if you have the bucks.

Which version of the 452 would be best...most of my shooting is at 50 yards.

American. Unless you like plastic, or go the fullstock route. Pretty much every American is a shooter.

I think all CZ soot great plain and simple. I have a Silhouette .22 and my buddy has a Varmint .22 and at 100 yards you can not tell the groups apart. You will not be disappointed with any CZ. Pick the one you like best.

Just wondering if the varmint with the thicker barrel would be better or not much difference?

There's really no difference in accuracy between the varmint/american. In fact, the varmint has a barrel lug which prevents the barrel from being fully floated. One of the guys I shoot with who has both is running into accuracy issues with his varmint right now.

Is that normal? I don't think so, but, between the two I'd recommend the American unless you prefer the look/feel of the varmint.

They'll both shoot, but the varmint doesn't really have an accuracy advantage over the american.
