Put one of the 6.5 rem actions into a Magpul Hunter stock Insite muzzle break and Federal gold medal match 140 gr match kings go into .250 in. And does not matter wether barrel is below freezing or 80 far.

Does anyone have any comments about the coned bolt face used by Bergara? From my web browsing it seems like you can't just use any "remage" barrel (prefit remington/savage barrel) and rebarrel your action yourself at home.

Remage ain't working as you said because of the cone bolt face. . Maybe someone will do a "Berage" lol.

Get it to a smith. Better job and not much more costly.

Their is nothing wrong with investment casting. It's largely used in aircraft industry...

Don't know why people associate it to "cheap"...

Issue with bolt shroud is limited to handload 6.5 creed with small rifle primers. They can supply machined shrouds if request.

I'd say those rem 700 are the worst QC ever seen in the industries. Savage 10 tr are as bad or equal to rem 700.

The best US investment cast gun maker is Ruger, and you don't see any of those on the target lines. There is no question it is cheaper to cast and do selective machining, nothing says it's better or more precisely made then CNC from forgings or billet.
Sabatti of Italy casts their rifles that retail here for under $600.
Bergera of Spain casts their rifles that retail here for $1500.
Someone is making massive profit.

Small *NON MAGNUM* rifle primers that is.
At any rate, just go HMR PRO. Machined from billet stainless in the US.

Type of primer was not the point, how the design blew bolt shrouds apart in the shooters face is the point.
I've had dozens and dozens of pierced primers in various firearms and other then a little puff of smoke out of the action there was nothing to notice.
You do need a smaller firing pin and opening, and they need to be closely fit when using SRP brass (6.5/308). It's possible the Bergera is just sloppy in this area, but then it shouldn't be marketed as a target rifle, since this is common brass used in target shooting. And it shouldn't be blowing shrouds apart.
Anyway...Rem 5R is an awesome rig, and a good value when you compare it to the other rifles in this range.

Yet they still warranteed the guns, even though it outlines specifically that the use of hand loaded ammunition will void the warranty. Regardless, the issue is dealt with and all new productions B-14s now come with the machined shroud.

That stock with the integrated mini chassis is actually amazing.

It didn't do anything for me. Partially because it just didn't seem to fit me well and partially because (the way it's built) reminds me of a Savage AccuStock. Yes they work but it's simply a cheap minimalist way of accomplishing what needs to be done. In my opinion, not acceptable on a $2200 rifle like the HMR Pro.

It's a step up from a basic tupperware stock and a whole flight of stairs down from the HS Precision that comes on the Remington 5r.

If I were to spend that much $ on a Bergara I'd spend just a few buck more and get the Bergara Premier Approach Rifle. It's the same USA made barreled action as the HMR Pro except they've done away with the molded stock and used one that compares with an HS Precision.

Of course that's just my opinion. Everyone's got one, doesn't mean they're right or wrong.

So update: Bought a Savage 110 Tactical in 6.5cm for $850 with free shipping.

Will throw it in an MDT Chassis in the near future (unless someone recommends otherwise).

Does the Bergara have one of those "press-fit" barrels? Where they heat the action up to expand it, insert the barrel, and when it cools, it forms a tight fit. No barrel changes with those. That seems to be the way a lot of European makers are barreling their guns now. I prefer screw on barrels myself. I picked Savage out of the 3 choices. They make nice , straight barrels.

I plan on putting it in a chassis down the line. Works out to be equal in price to a Bergara after the same upgrades and cheaper than the new DD Delta 5 by about $1k.

Optic is a Vortex 3-15x PST II MRAD

Any chassis recommendations would be appreciated!

Looks like a decent stock, chassis is probably not required. Save the cash and the money will be better spent on optics.
