I would like to get an AR-15 chambered in this calibre. What are some brand options people here know are available in Canada?

Long range restricted are not pointless. All you need is access to an long distance range that is approved by the CFO.

Check our you local provincial rifle association.

Also, "long range" cartridges work at short distances too. If a person wants one and can only shoot 100 yards or so, fine. It's what that person wants.

Back to OP, I can't say that I have ever seen one advertized. Maybe check with some of the board sponsor (ArmsEast, Questar, Badger, Wolverine) to see if they are available to be imported.

JP Enterprises chambers some of their rifles in 6.5G. CRAFM has brought some of these in, but not in 6.5G. Not yet anyway. I don't believe that 6.5G chamberings are on their current export permits, but Frank said he'd look into bringing them in. JP rifles are exceptional! If you ever get one, I've got a NIB set of Forstner dies, and 200 pieces of new Lapua brass that I might sell.

And then there's Sabre Defense............don't know about that though, or get a custom barrel and build your own.. All you need specific to 6.5 G is a barrel, bolt, and mags. Questar has some LMT enhanced bolts in 7.62x39, which will work for 6.5G, and chambered barrels are available from a few + sources.

If you are considering the expense and trouble to go with the grendal round, give serious thought to the AR10/.308 platform.
