I've been using 115 gr FMJ Blazer since I bought my 9mm Sig 226 a couple of years ago and haven't tried anything else. I also just bought a 1911 9mm pistol. I just shoot paper and keep threatening to do some PPC. I see that Lever Arms has 124 gr FMJ and also some 147 gr MC 9mm ammo in stock. Any advantage/disadvantage to trying them out?

Thanks,
Mike

No advantage or disadvantag to trying them out :)
Might feel more felt recoil with the heavier bullets.
RCMP use 147gr bullets for reference.

Interesting that there are 2 different thoughts about felt recoil with a heavier bullet. That settles it, I'll have to try them all. At 200 rounds per range trip I'll find out pretty quick what i like best.

"...I'll have to try them all..." Yep. It's part of the fun of shooting. Mind you, shooting jacketed bullets all the time is expensive. My Inglis BHP likes 121 grain truncated cone cast bullets using 3.5 grains of Bullseye. Never bothered to work up a really good load due to the crappy issue sights.

I like the 147 gr, myself. I've been using that weight with IPSC for the last few years and find that they have more of a "punch" straight back which helps me keep my sight picture vs the lower weights that seem to snap the pistol up.

For reference, what I don't load myself I get from Combat Masters.
