Want to get a self loading 9mm.Has to be barreled restricted(106mm+)and a suitable design for future uses like IDPA etc.Something with parts available in Canada would be a plus and affordable to a working class stiff a must.Any suggestions as to make and model would be great.

There's so many good ones to choose from..... it depends what features you want and how much you have to spend. If you have the dough, buy an HK P7M8.

If you want affordable quality, a Springfield XD-9 is a great choice. However, if you have a good budget and you want a gun that feels like a gun (heavy and solid) a Sig P226 with a DAK trigger is top of my list. Also, like others have said, a CZ is a solid performer.

I shot a lot of those,

the one that REALLY made me drop my jaw was the H&K USP Custom Sport ...

I really can't explain why, you have to try it to understand.

Those german really know what they are doing...

Hk is an accurate gun, and it works well. The mag change button is not for everyone, but is very fast IMHO for helping with "trigger finger " safety and mag change if you use your trigger finger to press mag release. It deviates from the Classic 1911 style mag release, but a lot of new pistols are utilizing this ambi mag release. (HK, Walther, S&W,etc..)
