This week I sighted in my RRA with a 9X scope. I am looking to do some upgrades including a NM trigger and a stock thatl lends itself better to a comfortable check weld. I have the factory RRA CAR stock now. I do like the ability to collapse the stock. Any suggestions or opinions? What about the "operator" stocks?

Get a Magpul CTR (not the MOE) from Brownells. 97 bucks? they should ship it right up here, and its an AWESOME stock. (I got my CTR from them)

As solid as a fixed A2 stock, but the ability to collapse and work like a normal tele-stock.

If you want storage compartments, the RRA one with the removable back plate is a nice setup, my buddy has one and it seems to work pretty good.

Since you are using a proper scope you may want to go with a fixed stock since you will only be shooting it with the stock extended (eye relief will change). I have a magpul PRS and love it.

Nice setup!
Only issue for me is one lower but two uppers. I need to able to switch from bench shooting to shooting on the move by swapping just the upper.

I am having trouble finding a comprimise stock though so this might get real expensive...

I've looked at this stock for awhile. It just seems....well, bulky to me? What's your opinion? Is it just a visual thing?

Understand this is on a match grade rifle. The stock is fairly heavy, but I find it helps with the overall balance. A lot of people actually weight their rear stock just for that reason.

If you don't want to use a PRS, I'd go with an LMT SOPMOD. Fantastic cheekweld, extremely robust and very comfortable to use. Plus, if you have facial hair you don't have to worry about pulling hairs out of your face as you do with the Vltor. CTR/MOE stocks are fine for carbines, but they don't offer the same cheekweld the others previously mentioned do. RRA, Magpul and HK are now making their own copies of the SOPMOD with minor changes to avoid patent infringement, but the stock geometry is the same.

Well I decided on a RRA Operator stock. The check weld is waaay better than my old 6 position stock. I think it will work well for both uses.

Thanks for all the input.
