Which auto is better (accuracy, reliable)?

Kimber Super Match 45
Sig Sauer X five
Smith performance center 1911
Smith performance center 952
STI 2011 45
Les Baer 45
 
I have owned an X Five in 40S&W, a Smith PC 1911 in 38 Super, as well as the S&W 952 (9MM)...
All superb, tight, accurate (I was the limiting factor here folks!) with great triggers, and ergos that fit somewhere on the 'good to great' spectrum.
I have also had several Kimber Target II models...again, tight and accurate.
Personally....I can recommend any/all of them.
If you had the cash, all of them would be nice to sitting on the shelves in your extensive series of vaults...
If funds aren't 'limitless', I would go with the one that 'set your pants on fire!'

Please define your term accuracy and at WHAT distance..

Most likely ALL the listed firearms would group 10X at 7 yards, not sure they would ALL do it at 25 yards and I'm certain none would do it at 25 meters, the standard shooting distance for centerfire ISU competitions.

From what I've seen (not much I'll grant you that :) ) as long as you can group 2-3 inches at 20-25 yards, you can probably hit plates, bowling pins etc and hit the 10 zone in human zone targets..Of course, the shooter has to know how to aim :rolleyes:

There's quite a mix here, as well as 9mm's, .45's....

For pure accuracy, the 952, STI and Les Baer

For reliability, the STI, SIG...

Combination of the two needs - STI, hands down :)

Kimber Super Match has an accuracy guarantee of 1.5" at 25yds. I'm not sure any of the others listed have any sort of guarantee, but I'm sure someone will pipe up if they do.

Does Kimber actually send you a test target with a 1.5" group? Otherwise, it would seem that the guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on (good luck trying to prove that your 1.75 group is not the fault of the shooter and/or ammunition).

I beleive Les Baer provides a 1.5" at 50 yards guarantee, but they charge extra for it.

Yes test target is included. No it isn't that difficult to address if your gun does not perform. Of course you need to use match ammo.
