Hey all,

I am in the process of setting up my reloading room, getting all the gear and all the necessary components, but it appears I have overlooked a key item - the reloading manual. I have done a bit of searching and I now realize that there are a lot of reloading manuals and books out there!

So, I am appealing to the reloaders of CGN to point me in the right direction and suggest the one manual I should start off with. Thanks for any and all help.

Start with the lyman manual, I think its on the 49th edition. It has all the steps outlined and a lot of useful loading data. After that you can start buying books from the bullet manufacturers if you want.

Lyman. It has more loads using more powders and bullet weights than any manufacturer's book. Not that those are bad. It's just that they publish data for their products only. The Lyman book is far more versatile. Mind you, it's not inexpensive. $50ish, the last time I looked.
Load for the bullet weight. Who made it doesn't matter. Close counts for bullet weights too. For example, 147 grain .308" bullets will be fine using 150 grain data. Plus cast and plated bullets usually use different data than jacketed bullets.

We sell most of the manuals but for most people the Lyman book is the most useful as they do not limit their info on a specific bullet manufacturer. Phil.
