Just wondering out of the 3 Factory Offerings,
which one would you Wheleneers Choose???

1...Remington 200gr Core-Lokt

2...Remington 250gr PSP

3...Federal Premium 225gr. Trophy Bonded Bear Claw

I've fired a box of the 250's, But recently picked up a box of the Bear Claws to try. Interested to see if they will group any better then the 250 remmys

I know your post refers to factory loads only, but if you should choose to handload try the Speer 250 gr. spitzer.
Also if you want to try cast bullets, a discontinued Lyman mould..# 3589 throws a heavy 280gr. or heavier gas check bullet that works really well in the Whelen or the 358 Win. That particular mould can frequently be found on Ebay.
Sorry I can't help with factory loads....my Whelens have never fired one.

I shoot the Speer 250 as well, I don't have any experience with any factory loads. But the 250's make the best sense to me in Whelens. If that 250 psp has good rep for holding together I'd probably got for that...othwise the bonded 225 should hammer everything.

If you're gonna shoot a 300RUM, 300WSM and a 35Whelen, I'd say it's time you learned how to handload.

Otherwise, you'd be better off sticking to your 270Win.

Remington 250's worked for my Mom last year ;)

Use the TBBC's for business, as long as they shoot well. Use the other two for anything else. If the TBBC's dont shoot to your expectations, the 250's at 35Whelen velocities, will do for anything you point it at in this country, in hunting mode. A mad-ass Brownie,(not in hunting mode) no good. A speeding locomotive is much better.
Other than that, load your own.
My 2 pecos.

Of factory loads, the Federal 225 TBBC stuff is by far the best. The Remington 250's are OK too, depending on the rifle's likes. Not sure why anybody shoots a 200 grain in the Whelen. Maybe 'cuz they only shoot deer with their rifle. Waste of good energy IMHO. The Whelen was built for bigger stuff, and it works well on big critters in my experience. But most of my big critters were shot with handloads and 250 Speer Grand Slam bullets @ 2500 fps. They work very well!

Pretty much x2

I shoot 225gr TSX at 2700fps in my Whelen. She also shot very well (under 1moa)with both 250gr Speer HC and GS.

I've tried a bunch.

Shot a few moose with the no-longer available Remington 250 gr. RN factories, and several deer with the 200 Remington factory loads. No complaints.

For hand-loading, the 200 gr. Hornady RN's are to my liking for deer and black bear, and the 250 Hornady RN's for moose. Both RL 15 and H-335 gives me good results. If I was going to load for a little longer-range opportunities, I'd look at the Federal factoryTBBC's or handload the Nosler 225 Partitions. Most of my shooting tends to be 50 yards +/-.
