Which buttstock for AR10?

Just picking out some parts for an AR10 pattern rifle. I'm leaning towards a PRS style buttstock as I don't plan on running and gunning so weight is less of a concern as getting a good position behind the rifle. So far I'm looking at the magpul PRS gen 3 or gen 2, and the LUTH AR MBA3. I like the price of the LUTH AR as I have other parts I am looking at, but I would like to hear peoples opinions on what they are running. Thanks in advance.

What purpose are you building for? What features do you need? Hunting vs plinking vs long range precision could require fairly different stocks. I put a Magpul CTR on my Stag 10 as soon as I got it home. It came with a Magpul ACS, which I have on EE.

Purpose is plinking/long range shooting. I have lighter guns to carry and run around with.

Lots of lover for the magpul PRS. Is it advisable to get a rifle length buffer tube or do both gens work with the carbine length?

No-one running the LUTH AR?

Thanks for the replies so far. It's appreciated.

I went with the Luth MBA3 first but found it was to light and didn't give me the balance I was looking for, the advantage is the ability to collapse although you will need to unscrew the anti rattle set screw each time you adjust. I also found the LOP adjustment no matter how tight it still seemed to rock slightly, overtime it could be more pronounced. I now use the Magpul PRS, better balance but found with the oversized aftermarket charging handle that it would interfere with the adjustable cheek weld when raised. So I made a mod to address the issue I was having. GEN3 works on both buffer tubes

The Gen 3 works with either. The other generations need a Rifle receiver extension.

There are a couple guys out there using the Luth-AR stocks. They aren't as nice.

One thing worth considering, I’m running a PRS gen 3 on mine with a rifle length buffer tube. The fact the PRS gen 3 can run both is great for accommodating options.
I wish I would have gone with a carbine length though, as I despise the length of the PRS for anything other than precision shooting, and I’m at the point where I’d like a shorter barreled upper for playing around with, and it’d be really nice to have the option of slipping off the PRS stock and sliding on a B5 sopmod, and then slapping on a shorter barreled upper with a red dot or something similar.

Just something worth considering. After all the AR type platforms are known for their modularity.

I run a CTR on mine and like it (19" 6.5 Creed). Cheek weld is fine with a scope in a 30mm Badger Ordnance 1.4" ultra high 20moa Unimount. I really didn't see the point of the extra weight and cost of the PRS.

I find the PRS actually balances out an AR-10 quite nicely. It's a significant amount of weight but I like it. The extra cost is hard to defend but it is a very well designed and robust stock.

I put a Fab Defense GL-Shock on mine. Recoil reduction was significant, the stock is versatile enough for several applications and there is an adjustable cheek riser. What's not to love?

I agree that it's a nice stock but as is my rifle balances nicely in front of the magwell and I don't need a cheek riser with the mount I use so I figured I'd save the cash and weight.
