Which calibre is a one for all

If your wife is concerned about having only one rifle in the house - buy several calibres of the exact same same gun. A nice Remington 700 model, perhaps? Maybe Ruger?

Every one of the rifles would look the same so she couldn't tell the difference (unless she's a lurking gun nut) and you get to choose the calibre you like for the game you have in mind.

Depends on where you live and hunt.Hard to imagine a better caliber for the yukon than the 338 win.If you hunt thick brush maybe a 45/70.Everyone has their own opinion based on what works for them.I could be content with a lightweight stainless 35 whelen, will handle anything I hunt out to about 300yds.

.308, .270 or the good ol .30-06. They are very common and you can get ammo anywhere for them...try picking up .300WSM or .280REM ammo at any corner store its just not available
