Hi guys,

Big dilemma here. I am hesitating between 2 pistols available at my local gun shop. One is a CZ 75B nickel with wooden stock and the other is a shadowline.
The nickel one is better looking in my eyes but from what I have read, the shadowline might be a better gun.

What are your opinions?

Thanks

I don't buy for looks the first time around. I buy for function. With that, buy the Shadowline.

It also depends on what you are going to do with that pistol. If you're putting holes in targets, doesn't matter. If you're looking at IPSC or IDPA, pick the Shadowline as it will be better tuned out of the factory.

Or, there's option 3: search for a two-tone Shadowline. Plenty of great site sponsors who deal in CZ.

Definitely shadowline got a regular cz75 sp01 shadow and love dont even see how they could improve it so if its a improved shadow youll not be disappointed

Thanks Guys,

Yea I guess I will go with the shadowline.

Anyways I appreciate your input.

Agree, SP01 Shadowline if you can find one. A regular shadow will also do but with a little work on trigger. Or a Satin Nickel 85 Combat as your last option (with a little more work compared to a regular shadow)

You know... Function doesn't have to be the deciding factor :) Besides, they both work very well, it's just that the Shadowline works a little better.

You'll probably find the trigger feels much nicer on the Shadowline, but that might not be your deciding factor. The 75B trigger can be improved a lot, but it does take some work.

Get the Shadowline now, look for a nickel 85 combat later??????

I'm glad you asked the question..WHAT CZ TO CHOOSE.
Ive got a CZ85 combat, and at the range ,I also tried a cz 75b and a SP01 shadow. They shot the SAME. they were all accurate, all fuctioned the same, all good. So what,.. other than the outer obvious differences, is suppose to make one better than the other. I myself cant tell the difference shooting them.

The one that fits your hand best. CZ 75's don't fit short hands. Would have bought one when they first came to Canada if it had fit me. Too big for normal sized hands. Otherwise they're basically the same thing.

better than the Shadowline or Canadian ?
Yah, lots of custom handmade fitted stuff here: (from cz website)

CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW ORANGE
The CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW ORANGE pistol differs in new procedures and operations added as a part of the serial production process (e.g. the manual fitting of the barrel, the lateral definition of the free movement of the bolt and the sophisticated trigger mechanism). The gun has a burnished barrel and its "orange 2012" name is based principally on its long thin and aluminium grips of that colour. The weapon is presented in an identical case to that of the CZ 75 TS CZECHMATE.
Features:
handmade barrel matching and precise slide side setting
Improved trigger mechanism
polished barrel
metal polished recoil spring guide
polished recoil spring + recoil spring set (13 lbs. And 11 lbs.)
Polished main spring + main spring set (13 lbs. And 16 lbs.)
Buffer set (3x thick, 2x thin)
orange grips - thin, long (aluminium)
3x magazine with aluminium magazine bottom (orange)
defender type rear sights and red fiber optic front sight 5,5 x 2,5 x 1 mm
newly designed sa/da hammer
cleaning oil, cd, polymer case
better shooting comfort, increased accuracy.
more stable recoil during shooting. Parts service life increased.
smooth and precise trigger mechanism

I would have to say exactly the opposite of everything you just said. Have you ever handled one? I have small hands, my wife has small hands, this pistol is designed for small hands, I own one, my wife owns one.
