Hello fellas.

Im a happy owner of a newly acquired Tikka T3X Hunter Stainless Fluted in 30.06.
My first rifle. Never shot rifles or hunted before. I heard every gun shoots different ammo differently.
Was wondering if you guys didn't mind sharing your knowledge. What do you shoot? What factory ammo gives you tighter groups? im not looking into reloading at this time. If you shoot factory ammo and are satisfied with it, please let me know. Id like to test it out.

Would like to sight in this rifle and start hunting this year.
Thanks in advance.

Which donut tastes best?

Not anything anyone can answer but you. Buy a box of all the easily available ammo that is in your price range and take it to the range. Remember that your accuracy is based on what you are using it for, deer hunting at 50 yards does not require the same accuracy as deer at 500 yards, no need to pay $80/20 for 30-06 ammo when $25/20 will work just fine.

I have found that grey box Winchester 50gr in my 222 Rem was the most accurate factory ammo I tried but I only tried a few to get what I wanted for my shooting.

Those Tikkas are very accurate rifles and yours will probably shoot more accurately than you can hold it with most ammunition that you try in it. If shooting targets and deer, I'd suggest the same Federal or Remington loads suggested above, or add good old Winchester power points into the test. I bet all will work well and won't break your wallet. If your'e planning to hunt much bigger game like elk and moose you would want a premium controlled expansion bullet ( bonded, partition, or all copper) of a slightly heavier weight than is ideal for deer. This can be debated forever, but over simplified, and there are lots of exceptions, in the 30-06 150 grain bullets are generally considered deer bullets, 180's for moose, 165's kinda in-between and universal. You can't go wrong by using 180 grain bullets for everything in your 30-06, more penetration in small stuff is less of a problem than not enough penetration in large stuff. Hope that helps.

if I had to pick one it would be federal. crappy brass for a reloader but I always found it accurate. more so than other brands
