Hey guys,

I'm considering doing a little work to the frame of my CZ Tactical Sport. A little trimming under the trigger guard and the beaver tail. When that is done, I would want to re-finish the frame, just the frame as the slide is fine. The slide is black, I don't think it is blued, if anyone knows what kind of finish it has I would apprieciate some schoolin'.

The gun is used for IPSC, so it will see alot of rounds and alot of draws and time in my hands. I would like to finish it in something that will last and not wear off very easily.

What finish would you recommend and why?

Thanks for your advice.

Most of them are nickeled, I think.

If it isn't nickeled, its a polymer finish applied over parkerizing. (Good luck with getting a match.)

You could always have it hard-chromed.

I would just touch up the bluing...

There is no bluing on the frame.

It's not nickled, but I do believe it is some kind of a painted finish,... over top of what I don't know. I'm not really worried about matching the old color, so I'm open to new finishes.

Shooting CZ in Standard? That's different.

I hope this is a joke. The Tactical Sport is .40 cal., or at least everyone I know of is. Not to mention, the older version (which seems identical to this version) was named IPSC Standard.:cheers:

I am not sure if it is just a paint type finish or actually something like gun kote, etc... I would blast the frame or sand it and get one of the bake on finish. From what I have read, they are durable and user friendly. I have seen different TS's done with different shades of grey, and they looked fantastic. How mush work are you doing to relieve under the trigger gaurd? I have one CZ that had its gaurd flattened out on the bottom, and it works really well.
