So I'm putting together a pistol grip 870. I've owned other pistol grip 12 gauges before but I never leave them in that configuration very long because of accuracy. This time I want to put a frickin laser on it so I can smoke zombies (ei steel plates) from the hip at 15+ yards.

I know it's a bit silly, but any of you guys run a laser on your shotguns? I was thinking about a Streamlight TLR-4.

thx

The more I read about lasers the more I think I'll leave it as is... until I get pissed-off and put a stock on it.

I've used Crimson Trace lasers on two different handguns and lights on my Marlin 1895GS 45-70 rifle when I was working in remote wilderness areas of BC & Alberta.

I have not used light/laser combo's though.

As to needing a laser the Streamlight tactical lights have a very concentrated beam = I didn't need a laser just shot to centre of the main beam.

Lasers will give you minute of rabbit head at 30 yards. (disclaimer: no I didn't shoot rabbits with my handguns just giving an example of how accurate you can be with a laser 3" group)

How do the lasers perform on bright days?

The red lasers work but they are not all that good in bright light.

I also never use a long gun with a pistol grip on it think they are a total waste always have a butt stock on my long guns.

I'd go green if I wanted a laser that I could see during the day.

Total crap in my experience. I have one of those green Laserlyte center of mass lasers on a shotgun of mine. I took it to the range to try it. Too much sunlight. (Rare for lower mainland BC but it happened)
I haven't taken it out since. I have a Green laser on a handgun and that one seems bright enough. I barely use that though because it is a bit embarrassing to see it shake all over the target. :d
