Which glock mag gen is best for Ruger PCC?

They all look pretty much the same other than the gen 5 mags have the orange followers instead of black. I would get whatever is cheapest. There are a ton of aftermarket mags that are great as well just stay away from promag.

OK, that's what the guy from G4C said too but they're both the same price lol, wondering if there's any difference at all in aesthetics

This is exactly it. Function wise the the OEM G4 and G4 seem the same except for that orange follower.

I will say my preference is for non OEM Glock only because they are much more easier to take apart to clean, possibly change out spring, etc. The Magpul PMAGs are also lighter. Pro Mags seem OK too.

My only issue with the Glock OEM mags has been the seemingly more frequent incidence of the last round bolt hold open not working reliably, whereas with PMAGs, there is better success.

Obviously three is a cost factor too with the Glock OEM being, what, $45 whereas the PMAGs are $25 - $30. And generally the PMAGs are 15 or 17 or 27 round capacity pinned to 10. If you don't have a Glock handgun, I personally would just get the Magpuls...just my humble 2 cents.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I thought the Glock OEM would be the best and didn't trust the other makes. Thanks for this info, maybe I'll get those instead.

Glock OEM mags are great, and probably the most durable because of the steel liner. But there's nothing wrong with Magpul GL9 mags, as said above they're better in some ways.

Magpul PMAG 17 GL9, part #MAG546. This is the pinned 10/17 version, for the Glock 17 length grip.

Part #MAG801 is the 10/10 version for the G17 length grip.

They come in lengths for the G19 as well, but they're very close to the above. If you can find the pinned 10/12 mags for the subcompact Glock 26 (#MAG674), it can be nice not having so much useless magazine hanging out of the magwell. And the extended 10/21 and 10/27 are fun if you like to play make-believe. (can be useful for different handling and reloading options)

This is just my opinion only - I don't work for Magpul and am not being paid by any other company...I have owned a number of pistol caliber carbines - quite a few - and in ALL cases, there was no detrimental effect in using non OEM Glock mags in the PCCs. I personally prefer the pinned Magpul GL9 or GL7 or whatever they're called. Yes they are much lighter than the OEM Glocks and FEEL kind of cheap, but performance wise, I have found no difference.

The only Glock OEM mags I do really like are the 33-rounders, pinned to 10. The weight is great for a secure seating of the mag - it's actually quite satisfying to have that solid seating especially on a closed bolt.

The Magpul Glock 26 Pmags are what I went with for my Ruger PCC, being limited to 10 rounds I saw no point in extra length or weight. However, I just found a downside in that they are too short to fit my Sub2K G19 model so they are going with the Ruger to the new owner.

I'm finalizing my order but not sure which one of these to get for my Ruger PCC (M-lok variant). I looked all over the internet but all I could see is that they'd both work fine but which one would look nicer in your opinion? Thanks!

do you have any pistol using those mags as well?
i have a g19x and before i sold the g45 i had imported i modify the bottom part to make sure they feed as well on the g19x as i do prefer glock mags.

the best is when we shot the 33 rounders in alaska not pinned what a blast but here we can enjoy them for now and i do not know for how long ...

OEM Glock mags are magnetic, Magpul PMAGs are not magnetic. I've never found a 17+ round OEM Glock mag (pinned to 10) in Local Gun Shops (all are 10 rounders) and this has a significant effect on spring tension. From my (limited) experience I'd choose the Magpul (17 GL9) over the OEM Glock for a PCC collection because: half the price, feels lighter and the spring tension is easier to work with.

Yeah, they are not too common. I have seen the 33 rounders pinned to 10 from some of the site sponsors here (G4C - it sold out quick - plus tax it was over $90 I believe). I ordered mine from iRunguns (also a site sponsor) a few years ago for $39.99 US, but the shipping and taxes and such made it probably close to $70.00 Cdn each.

I wanted a couple of extra mags, and had trouble finding any Rugers, so switched over to the Glock mag well.

I picked up a Glock gen 5 10 round, and a Magpul 27 round (pinned at 10).

Initially the Glock was a little difficult to load, but I worked it in quickly. The Magpul was very easy to load, but not sure I want to be handling a 27 rounder mag all the time.

I kinda prefer the metal lined Glock, so picked up a second gen 5.

I was told today Glock OEM mags do not work ie lock back the bolt back by Wolverine. The mags work as they are designed for pistols...not so much in this rifle. I now know why and how to make them work. I just have to finish testing.

Take Care
Bob
