There would be very little to no difference in the stiffness of the barrels because the stiffness is primarily a factor of the outside diameter of the material. For example, a hollow tube will be nearly as stiff as a solid tube with the same outside diameter.
Which is more suitable for Win 70 FWT: .270 or .30-06?

They are both suitable cartridges in a model 70 or any rifle for that matter. The 30-06 is a better all around cartridge. Thats my opinion, cheers pete.
